FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

1)  Who does SYRES work with?

 

Syres is bounded by our clients' trust not to breach any professional secrets, so we cannot publish the name of any particular client.

However, it can be said that among the top 6 (in terms of market share) colour cosmetics companies in Singapore, which include the world leaders, Syres is proud to undertake tests for 3 of them. When looking at the world top 10, Syres undertakes such tests for 50% of these prestigious manufacturers.

 

2) Why should I enroll as a panelist?

 

As a Syres panelist, you get to try the latest cosmetics and skincare products from established manufacturers. These products have been clinically approved safe for use and the manufacturers would therefore like to know your consumer opinion (such as fragrance, texture and efficiency) of these products that are in their final stage of development.

Besides being able to participate in the development of these products, you are also assured that your comments as a consumer are taken seriously when you participate in our test.

 

3) What other benefits will I enjoy?

 

At the end of each test you participate in, you will receive a $10 cash voucher as a small token of appreciation if you bring the questionnaire back to our office personally. (You may, however return the questionnaires by fax or post.)

 

4) How do I enroll as a panelist?

 

You need to enroll via this website under the section ENROLLMENT. Alternatively, you may wish to fill out the enrolment form at our office at Ngee Ann City Tower B #23-01. 5) What is involved in the test process?

In a standard testing procedure, Syres selects from its database, suitable panelists for the test product based on skin type, sensitivity and age group. If you are selected, you will be contacted directly to see if you are available and agreeable to carry out the test for a stipulated period of time.

Arrangements will be made for you to pick up the product from our office. You then bring it home to use, usually for a period of 4 weeks. Being a consumer's opinion test, the products are packaged in a white, neutral packaging so that you will not be influenced by preconceived ideas you have on the well-known brands we are testing for. Being in the final devlopment phase, the products are as safe as when you purchased them from the counters of departmental stores, and prior to our involvment, all the products have undergone thorough clinical and dermatological tests.

After using the products, you give us your feedback by completing a questionnaire provided to you. Finnaly, you return this questionnaire while keeping the rest of the full-sized product. It's that simple and you can continue to test for other products for free as long as you continue to stay in our panel.

6) What are the conditions of my participation?

 It is necessary for you to follow the instructions of use of the product during the test period, then complete and return a questionnaire provided with all your comments on the product you tried. As your genuine comments are of utmost importance to us, we appreciate all feedback that you may have.

 

7) Will I be required to make any purchases?

 

You will not need to make any purchases as they will be given to you for free. They will be given to you in their actual size as they will be sold in the market.

 

8) How am I sure that the tests are safe for me?

 

As it is a consumer test, all products have undergone thorough clinical and dermatological tests and are ready to be sold in the market.

You are therefore assured that the product you get is as safe as purchasing it off the counters yourself.   

 

9) If I really like the product, how can I find out the brand of the product I tested?

 

For the consumer test to be as objective as possible, the manufacturers do not want to influence your opinion with the packaging or brand. At such, test products are given in neutral packaging.

However, you may call us back 6-9 months after the end of your test. We will be able to tell you if the product has been launched in the market.

 

10) So when will I expect to be called for a test?

 

We will only call you when there are suitable products for your skin type and sensitivity. If you meet all the criteria set for the test, we will arrange for you to pick up the product from our office.

Each panelist can only participate in one test at any one time, but you can still continue to participate in our on-going tests for as long as you wish to remain in our panel.
